Worked example — NULU Crossing, 17 ft cantilever
The benchmark design ships in the app as an example. A 17 ft retained height in silty clay over loose sand, designed as a cantilever soldier pile wall at 8 ft spacing. The app reproduces the published GEI calculation: Mmax 772.56 kip-ft at z = 27.83 ft, Sx required 280.93 in³, deflection 1.42 in — and the optimiser finds a lighter W30X108 that also passes.
